Oakwood School will be created as a campus of Caulfield Park Community School on the site of the old Oakwood Primary School in Noble Park North.
The school will commence in 2011 with 13-15yo students but this will extend over the next few years to include Year 5 and 6 students and senior secondary students.
It is envisaged that the school will accommodate around 60 students but it is hoped to engage many hundreds of students in a flexible learning program.. This will mean that all students will have an Individual Learning Plan, developed by the student and their key staff member, which will include appropriate combinations of attending classes, online learning, mainstream schooling, work placement, VET studies, employment, recreation and family commitments.
